My Romanian adventure is now towards the end. I have had great days in Romania, where I met new people, amusing spirits and lived some exciting communication experiments. I believe that my story shall explore more the human touch and use more tech, just as I found out. Today was about hugs, kisses and sharing and evaluating this NGOs Communication Camp experience offered by Erasmus+.
I can say was certainly a plus and will come back to see Romania and keep in touch with the girls to create similar projects back home. Here is us, the team that learned new tricks in Communication this year in Romania.

Back in our villa in the mountains after exploring the beauty of Brasov, we are talking about promotional materials and how to use digital tools in order to create creative materials that tell the most amazing stories. The task of the day was besides visiting Brasov to find stories like a ream journalist. And we managed to find and interview the French Hobbos that came to Romania to learn how to sing gipsy songs. In the digital world we live, communication is part of being. During this day I learned how to create inspired stories. The changing digital media landscape requires a new skill set in multimedia content production. To stay ahead in the new media environment I must be proficient in storytelling with video, photography and data visualization tools and technologies. Plus, be a producer of online content to websites, news sites, blogs, and social networks. In this workshop I learned how to:
After a day with puzzle and written stories I though it will be difficult to have an interesting day. I though as you say in storytelling, that puzzle was"the climax". And I was wrong... because today it shifted towards people, towards what makes a team in an NGO, how you make it or brake it and how important is each team member and how to create internal communication i order to have an employee value proposition. Never the less I was seduced by prezi (which I shall use from now on). Breakfast starts with berries and home made milk, from the cow that I took a picture with last night. She is not only photogenic, but seems to have amazing milk. But today is mostly about food for the brain, not just the stomach. So, after we decided on some common rules, we know our names (from the tags we all have) and the amazing shoe game), we found put more about ERASMUS+, now we gather to find the insights of storytelling.
The day started by received some agendas that were branded by our personal skill and then we continued with pencils, then the story went towards the pen and then digital and then went into a new level: the puzzle land. :). Really amazing stories made by team hands. After a easy flight, just 2 hours, I find myself on the Romanian grounds, where I know I shall be for one week, where I also know will enjoy some new traditional foods and explore the beauty of a rural countryside, called Valea Doftanei and located somewhere near Sinaia... pity there is autumn, so no snowboarding. My plane landing hour offers me some free hours to look around the city. So I open my internet connection and look up on the NGOs Communication Camp Facebook link to double check the meeting hour and see few of the things highlighted as to be seen around Bucharest. I started with the HUGE Parliament Palace, then went for some traditional food in Hanul lui Manuc and looked around to see if the is any Dracula sign in the monastery near by then decided to see the people, how they are, how they feel in a walk towards our meeting point, where I met a lot of people, new countries, but same passion for the communication. See us in the bus here Lots of new names... and faces that just went up in the bus towards the mountains. After a 2 hours ride, we were there, in a place, where you could see just trees and hear the noise of the river. In the lovely landscape there is a villa, that will host us for the training course. It has an welcome banner, and personalized rooms and a lovely garden with a donkey a black lovely dog. Is time to unpack and then have some food. Can't wait to taste the local food :). The schedule shows a time to get to know each other, find out more about the TC, meet the lovely Em and Corina, the local trainers and then share what are our expectations (downloads) and what we bring to the table during the TC (uploads). After new city, new bed, great Romanian food and a TC that sounds creative and fun I need to pit my head to rest, but leave you with some images ...
bUILD your audience with ANALYTICS For sure your NGO has a presentation site. The purpose: "so that people know about our NGO, our projects, our work, how to contact us." But what do you really know about the people accessing your platform? Usually if you call a person or a set a meeting with someone you try to know the other person before you meet and talk. But why do you treat the person behind the pc in a different way? When a person enters on your domain it is just like a first meeting, so you should try make it as fun as you can by knowing the OTHER.
How can you find out more this OTHER PERSON? 1. Just find out who visits your website by adding a free tool - The Google Analytics This is a service offered by Google that generates detailed statistics about a website's traffic and traffic sources and measures conversions. It can track visitors from all referrers, including search engines and social networks, direct visits and referring sites. 2. After observing your traffic statistics for at least a month see you numbers and observe your trends. You can see:
4. Last but not least: Change what is boring & Improve the things that people enjoy Good luck! EMAIL COMMUNICATION TRENdS The site Socialmediatoday.com, conducted a research in order to find what what are the Communication trends regarding e-mailing. The subject was using the e-mail as a communication tool around the office. Well more or less what we are doing everyday at work. Even if an essential communication tool nowadays for 92% of the office employees, this communication channel tends to create resentment between the sender and the receiver for 43% of the respondents. Half of the people who sent an e-mail keep clicking the refresh button in order to see a reply, but 25 % of them are not being impressed by your reply to all - the irrelevant mail with the new haircut. Here are some tips:
